Renowned as the co-founder of IOG and Cardano, billionaire Charles Hoskinson, a pivotal figure in Ethereum’s initial development alongside Vitalik Buterin and others, has provided his perspective on Buterin’s recent proposals for enhancing centralized Ethereum staking. Although Hoskinson’s commentary on Buterin’s ideas was notably laced with sarcasm.
During a recent interview in Turkey, Vitalik Buterin engaged with the local community, shedding light on Ethereum’s roadmap. A focal point of the discussion was Ethereum staking, with Buterin acknowledging the need for improvements to combat centralization in staking.
He specifically highlighted challenges associated with multiple staking pools and the complexity of solo staking, deeming the current state “not really healthy.” Buterin is contemplating a revamp of the staking system, contemplating the adoption of the Unspent Transaction Output (UTxO) approach.
In response to Buterin’s musings, Hoskinson’s sardonic remark was, “No worries, Ethereum 3 will have it all sorted.”
This isn’t the first instance of Buterin advocating for a redesign of Ethereum’s staking system. Earlier in the year, Hoskinson and the Cardano community criticized Buterin for acknowledging inconveniences in Ethereum’s staking system, pointing out that Cardano had already implemented features to simplify ADA staking.
